Agriculture & Horticulture

HIGHER SECONDARY

The Course is Agriculture (Voc.) of two years duration – standard XIth and XIIth. It is recognized by Directorate of Education (Govt. of Goa) and affiliated to the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

The students, who have passed S.S.C. exam or its equivalent from Goa Board, NIOS or any other Boards, are eligible to make their admission to this course. The admission procedure for standard XI starts immediately after the declaration of S.S.C. results by the Goa Board. The student coming from any other Board should apply to the Goa Board for Eligibility Certificate through the Principal of this higher secondary.


Subjects for Std. XI and XII


  1. English Communication Skills (ECS)
  2. General Foundation Course (GFC)
  3. Pomology
  4. Olericulture
  5. Floriculture
  6. Gardening & Landscaping

All subjects are compulsory. In ECS and GFC, student will have to answer a theory paper of 70 marks and year round work comprising of practical, assignments, project and viva voce of 30 marks each. In vocational core subjects, students will have to answer a theory paper of 50 marks in each subject and year round workcomprising of practical, assignments, project and viva voce of 100 marks.

On The Job Training (OJT)

Students of vocational studies need to undergo six weeks compulsory training in the field or establishment carrying similar activity in the same field of studies. To complete OJT, students can select the establishment of his/her choice or they can avail the assistance from the School – Farms/Industry linkage facility.

Other subjects of internal assessment are Information & communication Technology (ICT), Physical Education, Health Education & Sports and Environment Awareness.

The examinations of all the subjects are conducted as per the rules of Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education.
